The UK Film Education Trust was established in July 2015 in response to departmental feedback highlighting concerns about the future of the UK film and TV industry.
Whilst the industry has grown significantly over the last 100 years, a number of industry experts, from art departments to animators, and directors to producers, looking to the future realise the next generation may miss the opportunity to access the skills, education, and best practice approach cultivated by veteran practitioners such as Terry Ackland-Snow. As a result of funding changes, lack of opportunity for knowledge transfer and the mysterious nature of the world “behind the scenes,” the industry faces the real challenge of addressing what will swiftly become a nationally dwindling talent pool.
The UK Film Education Trust is committed to helping the British film and TV industry to remain competitive in an ever-expanding global market by facilitating opportunities to work with these experienced professionals, retaining industry knowledge and preserving it for future generations.
Based in the historic heart of the UK Film and TV industry at Pinewood Studios, we work closely with industry experts to support emerging talent entering the industry.
